Meet Marisol, a Plan International sponsored child from El Salvador. We gave her a camera to show us a day in her life. She lives with her family where her father works in the field. She helps her mother teach younger children before she goes to school. Plan International built a water tank and a farm yard for the animals for Marisol's family.

In a remote village of Southern El Salvador without a high school, there's very little opportunity for advanced education. High school kids only attend classes one day a week. Surf For Life and the Azul Surf Club are working to change that. A group of volunteers raised some money and spent a week starting to build a high school. You can help. More funds are needed! http://www.surfforlife.org http://www.azulsurfclub.com
www.fundacioncinde.org CINDE is a non-profit organization that works in education from the first stages of childhood in San Salvador (El Salvador) in two districts of the poorer urban zone of the city: Soyapango and Mejicanos. These zones share similar characteristics: overpopulation, unemployment, informal trade concentrations on streets and the absence of childcare programs. These districts have a strong gang presence and high levels of violence. The work of CINDE is aimed at sectors of the Salvadoran population that live in poverty and exclusion, a population that cannot afford a basic hamper and therefore cannot meet many of its needs. It is a population living in a stressful environment in which violence and domestic abuse are commonplace.

The Church of St. Dominic has had an ongoing relationship with the people of Santo Domingo Parish in Chiltiupan, El Salvador since 2004. We realize that education is the key to lifting people out of poverty. To meet the many needs of the 16 schools in the municipality of Chiltiupan, the El Salvador Education Committee is looking for groups, businesses, clubs, or families that would like to Adopt-a-School.
